At the beginning of summer, I go out and explore the local area. I’m particularly interested in trying to predict the weather before it starts to rain. I’ll try to get out of the house for at least one hour during the day to be able to take a walk and check out the local scene. If I’m lucky, the first few drops are warm enough for me to take a quick sesh in front of the house.
Environmental mapping is the practice of taking a series of photographs of the local terrain to see how the area around you is changing. You can use this method to create a map of your surroundings at any time of day, but I find it gives me a better understanding of the local environment. Its also a great way to learn the local weather patterns and local topography.
I just spent an hour or two looking at the weather on my way home from work in a new location. It’s hot, the wind is sharp, and there is a heavy dew on the ground that is drying everything in sight. As a result, the area around me isn’t the same. The plants are less green and less lush. The air is clearer. The sky is brighter. The temperature is hotter. The trees are fewer and less dense.
What I found was a new kind of environmental mapping. When I first moved in, I found that my garden has been transformed. I planted new plants and rearranged the existing ones. I added a few of my own plants. Now I can walk through the front yard more easily and find my favorite flower in less time. I’m sure this is just a matter of being more observant.
The environmental mapping system that I mentioned earlier is based on what’s called “real-time” mapping. Real-time mapping is an approach to mapping that allows a user to create a static representation of their environment. In this case we’re using the term “environmental” to mean the real location of a plant, animal, or building, not something that’s “out in the world.
The idea is that you put the camera in the environment and find your favorite things in it. You can then map out the area where you are or want to go, and even if you’re not there yet, you can still get in the door. The software you can use to take advantage of this is called environmental mapping. The idea is that it helps you get in the door, but it comes with some risks.
The game’s website states that you can find your way around the map by using a compass, “shooting at things, and using the GPS to tell you where to go.” Also, you must not stray into the environment, “because you are on Deathloop.
When you’re not on Deathloop, you may not be in the environment you think you are. Environmental mapping is not a game. It is not a map. No one is responsible for your actions. You are responsible for your environment. And the maps can be useful, but they can also be dangerous. The game developers claim that the maps are used for environmental awareness, but it is not necessarily a good solution to the problem.
Environmental awareness is a bad idea. The maps are there for the sole purpose of showing you where you are, which is often not what you want.
The best way to look at it is to think about how you would feel if you were walking around outside and you were hit by a car or crashed into a tree. You would likely feel pretty badly. Your body would be hurt, your memory would be wiped out as you would have no idea why you were on the ground or why you were even there. Just because you would feel bad, that doesn’t mean you should be forced to feel bad.
