With the launch of Google’s Lib Tech Lab, the technology and services that are currently made available are accessible to anyone with a computer. A good example of the sorts of things that are created by the Lib Tech Lab are the Google+ community. This is where you can upload your photos, create groups, comment on others’ stories, read messages, and so much more.
For the Lib Tech Lab to take off, there needs to be more work done to make the whole process of building your own tech and making use of it easier. There needs to be more of an official “Lib Tech Lab” program to let the public build their own hardware. The Lib Tech Lab does have a great video on its YouTube channel, but I’d be interested to see more about the software side of things.
