I think that video games have one big problem. They give the player a lot of control over the game, and it’s not always pretty. Even though the player is a little bit more in control, they can still be a little bit lazy. The player is often not aware of the actual mechanics of the game, which is the reason that video games aren’t necessarily good for student learning.
Video game designers, at their best and worst, can be quite lazy. That’s one reason that the majority of their games are not as good as they should be.
The good news is that there’s a lot of games out right now that the player can play that arent just games. They can be a game they can play that lets the player do something other than just sit on their ass and play a game.
The key is to use the actual mechanics to explain the story to the player. Its not just a story of how you beat the villains or how you kill the enemies. Its a story about how you play the game. You can tell the story of the game without just showing the game. Its not just just a game or the game you play. Its a game you play that lets you do something else.
To do this, you have to understand the player – how they think. People who are used to just playing games in some way tend to be more “game-like”. They have a clear idea of how the game works and how the game is supposed to end. People who don’t have this concept of a “game” tend to be more “story-like”.
Story games are about telling a story, about trying to understand the characters and the events happening around you. They are more story-like than game-like because if you tell a story, the player has to try to understand your perspective on everything. It’s impossible to do the same thing in a game.
