I think the difference between the two is that clean is a noun, and remove is a verb. Whereas clean is not always used to mean what I think it means, often it means to remove something. I agree that pollution is bad. I am a huge environmentalist myself. I have a lot of friends who are also huge environmentalists, and they are both very important to me. One of my best friends, who is also a fan of environmentalism, used to be a huge environmentalism advocate as well. She was a very vocal, passionate advocate when she was younger. I still talk to her about environmentalism and stuff like that.

I think that is a valid point. Environmentalism is a movement that is both political and ideological and that is what makes it different. And like all of us, there are some people who are more of a Hitler than others.
But then we also have people who just want to go around doing the best they can. So like many people, I dont think we should be too concerned about people who choose to do the most harm to the environment. But there are many people who would be happy if they would just stay at home. That is an understandable sentiment. But there are also people who might not be as happy if they were forced to do what they want.
