I had always assumed that this would be a pretty simple question to answer for the average person. But it’s not. The “supraspinatus model” is the only model of the human body that actually requires some serious medical training, and it is extremely important in understanding the spinal cord.

The fact is that the majority of our movements are not really voluntary. I know this because I have had two major surgeries in my life. The first was to correct a congenital muscle imbalance in my left shoulder, and the second was to address a congenital muscle imbalance in my right shoulder. I can’t really tell you what the movement patterns of two muscles are.
This is a common problem when you have a congenital muscle imbalance, because the muscles are not naturally flexible. The muscles in your body are very much like a rubber band, and your body does the job of stretching the muscles before they can contract.
