The Bank Names

Are you tired of the same old games? Have you grown bored with Guess Who and Taboo? We have a game for adults that will provide hours of entertainment. The game is called “Guess The Bank Names.” All you need to do is read these 10 tips on how to play and start playing!

Tip One: The first person to guess the bank name correctly chooses a new one.

Tip Two: If you want to stay in control, write down all of your guesses on paper and keep them close by until it is someone else’s turn.

Tip Three: If you’re stuck with no clues for a few turns, try using digits from the time or day as an additional hint. For example “It was founded in 17”. This could be Chase Bank because it was founded in 1799! Or if there are only two hours left before checkout at your hotel, then maybe that would have been Barclaycard which gained popularity after its inception in 1967?

A great way not to get lost mid-game is to have a backup guess. For example, if you’re not sure of what the next letter is after “C” then maybe it’s either Citi or Citibank?

Tip Ten: Remember that this game can be played in many different ways! You could make up your own bank name list and find clues for those too–or you might even want to have someone else choose them all at random instead of giving yourself any hints. The possibilities are endless!

What do I need to play Guess the Bank Names with my friends? * Paper (to write down guesses) * A 15-30 minute timer (a watch would work!) * Someone who will stay impartial as the narrator/reader – like a parent, teacher, or other adult

Tips to Beat the Bank: * Pick a person who will stay impartial as narrator/reader. * Give yourself enough time–30 minutes is best! * Keep track of your guesses and clues on paper in order to keep score. Earn points by guessing correctly what letters are going next in the bank name list. You lose points every turn you get it wrong-but don’t worry if that happens, because you can earn them back with “banker’s bonuses” when someone else gets it right for a change!

* Turn 30 minute timer over once everyone has had an opportunity to guess their letter or number at least twice (for example) then start over again from beginning of alphabet/number list.

* Read clues aloud to give participants a better chance of guessing correctly. * When it is your turn, put down the letter or number you think will come next and then read the clue for that letter–or just say “pass” if you are unsure what should come next in this round’s bank name list!

* If no one can guess where to go after two rounds with nothing but passes, ask everyone to take three guesses each before deciding who guessed correctly-and then start over again from beginning of alphabet/number list.

Bonus: Start by reading out all letters on the same row (Aa – Gg) so people might have an easier time figuring out how many banks there are left once they have been eliminated.

* When someone guesses correctly, that person gets to come up with a new bank name list and read it aloud for the next round of play; if you are playing together as teams, this means one team member goes while the other stays out and listens until their turn comes again-and then switches!

* If no one can guess where to go after two rounds with nothing but passes, ask everyone to take three guesses each before deciding who guessed correctly-and then start over from beginning of alphabet/number list. * The object is NOT just guessing blindly–it’s also about listening carefully enough so that clues make sense in context once they’re revealed (some people might not realize what “P” stands for when they see a bank called “Piggly Wiggly”).

* Sometimes one clue will be an obvious giveaway for the next letter in a word–like when you see that there’s not just one pig, but two. * When guessing where to go on your turn, try as hard as possible to avoid backtracking over letters already guessed correctly. This is helpful because it means someone else won’t get stuck with having to pick all the same ones!

* If playing individually and using pen/pencil and paper: keep track of which numbers have been guessed correctly so far by underlining them; then erase any number(s) marked out while writing new guesses or taking turns those rounds (or use different color ink). * Keep game materials in a bag to keep them from getting lost. * Put an end point of the game, like “once all letters have been guessed correctly” or “the first player reaches 100 points,” so you don’t start playing and realize hours later that it would be dinner time before anyone finishes their turn.

* If there’s more than one person playing: give each person equal turns (i.e., if someone has had four rounds already, then the next round is given to another person). This helps make sure no one gets really frustrated because they’re always waiting for their turn!

Tip #11 – When guessing where to go on your turn, try as hard as possible not to backtrack over previous guesses–it means you don’t have to give away as many clues.

Tip #12 – If you think a clue is too big, try giving the person just one letter of it or some other small clue that might trigger their memory before going in-depth with the next word or phrase.

11) In Guess The Names, take care not to backtrack when choosing where to go on your turn so you can avoid giving away more clues than necessary; 12) Give players only one piece of information at a time when they’re stuck and need help guessing correctly!

Tip #13 – Remember: This game is all about the fun, so don’t take it too seriously. If you’re stuck and need help guessing correctly, your partner may be able to give you a few clues or use their turn to make an educated guess on where they think you might be. Tip #14 – When playing this game with people unfamiliar with Guess The Bank Name, try giving them just one letter of each word in order for them to get started; tip #15 – For example: “H-A-L” could stand for Haliburton Tip 13) Remember–this is supposed to be a lot of fun! Don’t worry if things seem difficult at first. Your partner can help by giving some clues or making an educated guess themselves when they are
